Bulker Arrested in Newcastle, Australia
zoom A bulker was arrested on Tuesday in Newcastle, Australia for unpaid bunker costs worth USD 258,338. The 240-metre Jo Jin Marus unpaid bill dates back to fuel ordered in February and supplied in Hiang Jin port, China in March. The Federal Court of Australia confirmed the arrest, the Australian Herald reports. The fuel was supplied by Dubai-based Prima Marine, which is seeking USD 291,661 in additional charges. The Panama-flagged vessel is said to be owned by Tsuineishi Group, whereas the outstanding debt is attributed to South Korean SW Shipping that chartered out the 2012-built vessel. The DNV-classed vessel is managed by Union Marine Management Services Pte. Ltd. World Maritime News Staff; Image: Shipspotting
