Crewing Manager

at A.E. NOMIKOS SHIPPING INVESTMENTS LIMITED
Crewing Manager is responsible for:
Crew Planning for continuous rotational flow
Monitoring / Evaluating all data concerning the seafarers training
Gauging Crew performance through appraisal reports
Managing crew certificates and training documents
Evaluating and selecting new candidates
Maintaining records and communicating with existing crews and manning agents
Planning and budgeting crewing needs
Managing crew-related logistics (travel documents, embarkations, repatriations etc.)
Negotiating and executing employment contracts
Managing crew payroll and disbursements
Planning and arranging crew training

The crewing department handles each seaman’s training, travel and payroll. Ensure that all of seamen have the qualifications and licenses required to comply with international requirements and regulations and shipping conventions, thereby ensuring that vessels are manned by experienced, competent and trained personnel.

SUPERINTENDENT – TO BE STATIONED IN FUJAIRAH

at Hong Lam Marine in United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Reporting to the Fleet Manager and duties and responsibilities are :
Planning, controlling and execution of all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, survey and certificate requirements, drydocking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels.
Updating, implementing and monitoring Teledata Fleet Management system including Engine Maintenance Programs (PMS-Eng).
Formulating a dynamic work plan and action list with vessel officers, to ensure that the vessel is maintained in accordance with Company’s policy and to receive regular reports as to its progress.
Assist in selecting suitable Officers & ratings for vessels under his care.
Verifying the work and performance of officers and rating on board our vessels.
Conducting inspections of the vessel in order to ensure the maintenance is carried out in line with company PMS and Manufacturer’s guidance
Undertake pre-vetting to prepare vessel for SIRE inspection.
Attend to oil majors’ vetting requirements of the Company and the fleet. Assist in maintaining the company TMSA
Monitor daily reports of the vessel and technical advice and support as required
Monitor fuel oil & lube oil quantity consumption, cooling water quality and take necessary corrective action promptly.
Ensure vessel’s stores, spares and other maintenance items supplied on board on time and sufficient stock maintained on board at all times.
Keep abreast, update and implement New Rules, Regulations and legislations applicable to the vessels working in that area
Assist in implementing various rules and regulations, initiative (eg ECDIS / SEEMP etc)
Draw up, implement and monitor the budget and cost control for the fleet, including docking and modifications
Other duties as may be delegate by Department head or Management.

Job Requirement:

At least 2 years of shore based Superintendent with experience and knowledge of SIRE inspection requirements.
Possess Certificate of Competency (Engine) Class 1 Deck or Engine. Worked on Petroleum and Chemical tankers below 20,000 mt deadweight and with 4-stroke main diesel engines
Good communication skills in English
Able and willing to travel or sail on company vessels or other assigned vessels as and when required


Trainee Technical Superintendent

We require a Trainee Technical Superintendent to work within our Purfleet office. The successful candidate will understudy the duties of the Technical Superintendents.
Preferably candidates should have a Class 1 Chief Engineers certificate of competency or a Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
This role requires a strong team player who is conscientious, motivated and enthusiastic with a commitment to high standards of professionalism. This is an interesting and challenging position in a busy and expanding ship management company.

Responsibilities:

Reviews the Cargo Securing Manual.
Determines/establishes and adheres to the DW operational standard.
Prepares project documentation.
Arranges flag state exemptions (for additional riders) if required.
Ensures a smooth, safe, cost efficient and timely execution of the project, meeting client expectations.
Checks the site, vessel, cargo (and tug or other equipment) required for the operation if all is in accordance with the requirements.
Delivers lay time calculation a completed Superintendent manual and a summary of commitments.
Completes various cargo documents and calculates demurrage, fuel escalation etc.
Participates in risk analyses.
Compiles 'Scope of Works' for subcontractors (deck preparations, sea fastening etc).
Supervises the work and to prepare all required administration i.e. statement of facts, bill of lading and checking documents/bills afterwards.
Inspects the vessel(s) and compile a report for DW as regular.

In case of management of change follows company procedures.
Internal & External Customers/Suppliers as well as Third Parties:
To pro-actively participate in preparing appointed projects to be executed in a safe and cost efficient manner by providing correct and timely advice where required with sufficient detail.
Gives correct reply on Q&A’s.
Gives proper operational and marine advice.
Informs all involved parties, Ship Manager, company departments, client, marine warranty surveyor, including Heavy Lift Vessel, concerning the project planning and details.
Is an ambassador abroad and on board and represent Dockwise accordingly.
Arranges and participates in meetings with client, marine warranty surveyor and local authorities to organize all prerequisites to ensure a smooth operation.
Assists the Engineering Department with enquiries and transport manuals.

Requirements:
Educational Background:
Bachelor or equivalent
Professional Knowledge:
About 5-10 years of relevant experience.
Training in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Officer or equivalent.
Specific knowledge of welding, processes, material knowledge, constructions and theory of strength of materials.
Sailing experience, preferably in Heavy lifting, tugs or offshore.

PROJECT NAVAL ARCHITECT - ADVANCED ANALYSIS ENGINEER

Perform stability calculations and hull form development using software such as GHS and Rhino. 
Perform detailed seakeeping and operability calculations, including MII & MSI

Perform powering calculations, including resistance calculations and propeller sizing calculations.
Prepare vessel arrangements displaying knowledge of SOLAS and regulatory body requirements.
Prepare weight estimates to either class or production engineering level of detail.
Develop models for FE analysis and have the ability to carry out basic analysis.
Develop models for CFD analysis and have the ability to carry out basic analysis.
Preparation of project schedules (budget, work plans, etc)
Monitor project budget performance & technical quality
Monitor individual project status (budget, work plans, etc) and provide regular updates to the senior project manager.
Experience
5 years experience working in a naval architecture design consultancy office
In depth knowledge of the designs for different Canadian and International flag states and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or better from an industry recognized institution. A Master's degree is preferred. 
Professional Engineer status in the Province of Ontario preferred.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
Excellent time management ability
Ability to work independently or in a large project team.
Canadian Residency/Citizenship preferred.
